We hypothesized that 12-week HIIT increases insulin sensitivity in males with or without type 2 <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">diabetes [T2D and NDM (nondiabetic humans)]. However, despite identically higher VO<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">max, mainly insulin-resistant <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">(IR) persons (T2D and IR NDM) showed distinct alterations of circulating small extracellular vesicles (SEVs) along <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with lower inhibitory metabolic (protein kinase C<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u03b5<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">activity) or inflammatory (nuclear factor<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u03ba<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">B) signaling in muscle <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of T2D or IR NDM, respectively. This is related to the specific alterations in SEV proteome reflecting down-regulation <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of the phospholipase C pathway (T2D) and up-regulated antioxidant capacity (IR NDM).
